More about Gewandhaus Dresden, Autograph Collection

Gewandhaus Dresden, Autograph Collection
Living luxury isn't gold, champagne or expensive clothing. Living luxury is dedicated to what is good, what is real. It is found in the little things which surprise and delight us. In furnishings created by regional craftsmen, in steaks served in the restaurant which are allowed to mature in the meat safe until they reach perfection, in the cakes made by the hotel's own patissiers. All of these represent commitment to handmade products. Living luxury continues the legacy of manual craftsmanship. As a philosophy, as an approach. Already a centre for trade and bustling activity many centuries ago, at the present day the Gewandhaus continues to open its doors wide to the city of Dresden and its people, welcoming visitors with its show bakery and restaurant, not only on an everyday basis but also for special events.

A 6. Stern really deserved this house!
The staff is super accommodating, constantly present but never intrusive. You really can't have it any better! Many thanks to the complete great team and the director.
Supplementary: As a wheelchair user, I inevitably have additional requirements for a room or hotel separately. With a wheelchair up to 60 cm total width, everything is no problem in the Gewandhaus. The bathroom is well usable if you don't have a wider wheelie. A standard accessible toilet is also available in the lobby. Top!

Historic Hotel in Downtown Dresden
I was only passing through for one night - regrettably - but had an excellent stay.

Luxurious and quiet city center hotel
Check-in was fast and personable.
Entering the room, one saw a remarkable sight. It was a large room with plenty of sitting space, a large bed, a coffee bar, and a smart TV (compatible with streaming apps and logins like Netflix and YouTube). Fresh flowers were placed on the center table, adding to the room's elegance. A large dresser contained two bathrobes and slippers.
The minibar contained tonic water, cabernet sauvignon, Merlot, cola, and others. Still water was on top of the dresser, and crisps were also available.
Room service is available for breakfast (I think until 10 am) and when the hotel restaurant (mEATERY) is open from 1800-2200. You can fill out and select your wishes for breakfast and then hang it on your room door by 0300. You can find this on the desk. Sadly, I did not see this option until 2 hours before checking out, nor was I told about any room service when checking in. However, you can tap your phone or scan a QR code on the device on the room desk to see hotel amenities. I ordered a steak for dinner that was remarkably cooked to my requested temperature.
The bathroom was outstanding and significant. However, the bath didn't fill adequately despite ensuring the drain was closed entirely.
The pool, sauna, and fitness room are all in the same room on the hotel's lower floor. You'll need to use the phone in the pool room to activate the sauna. When I asked, they quickly activated the sauna.
They gladly arranged for a taxi after checkout (I had to leave at 0400). The staff gave me bottled water for the ride without asking for it. I paid for the cab with my credit card, and they swiftly got me to the airport.

Terrible, don’t stay here.
Dirty bathroom with broken tiles and mold, water went from ice cold to scalding hot (especially not great when traveling with our 5 year old son). Door wouldn’t lock. Just push a little hard and it would open. They came to fix it but didn’t. Complained to the front desk and they moved us to a DOWNGRADED ROOM. Very inhospitable and couldn’t even book a van to the airport correctly for us. Very frustrating when you have a flight to catch and they assured you it was taken care of. Many other problems…too many to list.
We complained again to bonvoy when we got home (something we never do)…the hotel won’t even respond even we repeat attempts by Marriott customer service. An overall horrible experience.
