Perfect stay at East Sussex National
Really enjoyed our stay at East Sussex National, a very relaxing location. Our room was newly renovated. The rooms here are really spacious and spotlessly clean. The breakfast buffet offers a wonderful choice. We really enjoyed the honeycomb. This hotel holds very special memories for me as my brother was married here some years ago. Every single member of the team went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed our stay and it is very much the East Sussex National team who make this hotel so welcoming. Thank you especially to Anna, Anurag and Charlotte and their teams. We are already looking forward to our next visit later this year.

Grossly disappointed with the food
Went to a dinner and take that tribute evening…….the band were very good but the meal was awful. The portions tiny, pastry was raw, I complained and was told sorry! The pudding, although nice was the smallest panacotta I’ve ever had, two small spoonfuls and that was it….
Waiters were pleasant but the barman was scruffy and surly in manner …….very disappointing

Lovely stay!
I visited with my daughter for an overnight spa treat including a facial and back massage. The treatments were lovely. It was a very relaxing and enjoyable weekend with attentive staff throughout but particularly Nicoletta in the dining room. The three course meal was absolutely wonderful!

Dinner not of a high standard unfortunately
Couples weekend spa break.
The good -
Lovely picturesque location, large clean rooms, friendly staff, excellent breakfast, spa facilities ok, fast WiFi, gym ok and weekend package good value.
Not so good -
The main issue was the evening meal is not of a high standard unfortunately. Also service was too quick, no sooner had you finished your starter the main arrived. Some customers had come just for dinner, and therefore must have been even more disappointing for them! This could easily be sorted out please address for future customers. Thanks

With service its always a fine line between diners who want to get in and out and those who want a bit more time and we usually get the balance right but again apologise if service was too quick for you, you could always have asked us to slow down if needed. Won’t be going back!
We had to ask a waitress if we needed to order at the bar as no one came to serve us. The waitress then came and took our order. Asked for 2 ciabattas….no ciabatta so had to change our order. My husband ordered ham & cheese toastie….plastic packet ham! Mine was tuna but was soooo cold I couldn’t eat it and our friend hated her sandwich and said her fries were dreadful. We never got asked if we wanted another drink and it took them forever to clear our table….the place was virtually empty so it wasn’t that they were busy. We live 5 mins away but certainly won’t be going back in a hurry! Oh and the floor at our table was filthy!
