Great location. Would recommend!

I have stayed in this neighbourhood before so I knew it was in a "good" area.
I chose this hotel on price. I paid for a "small single room" and it was small. But it was adequate for my needs. Equipped with a safe and toiletries. My room was located next to a lift but this caused no noise issues as residents were quiet.
Previous reviews mention noise from the school. I rise early, breakfast is available from 7 on weekdays so I only heard kids playing in the afternoon. But I didn't find this an issue.
Staff were all friendly and curtious. The Spanish lady in the breakfast area was particularly helpful with information and tips on the city. There is a guests fridge in the breakfast area should you need to store any items.
I can't fault anything and I hope to return.

Great location, but small room. There were all kinds of facilities, but it is a bit difficult to move around the room.

Absolutely horrible hotel experience..avoid at all costs

Stayed from 2nd to 4th Feb 2025. Checking in was easy but the staff was unfriendly or welcoming and slightly rude to be honest. It didn’t bother us that much at this point. Location was great but that’s where the good review ends.
Room looks dated with wallpaper torn at the bottom, toilet bowl had faeces stain. Again we looked past it as we were excited to explore the city.
The absolute worst happened on the last night when were to leave. Checked out early & stored our luggage in the luggage storage room since we’re planning on exploring the area before we leave the city in the evening. Got back to hotel around 7pm-ish. No one was at the reception, there were no signs that there’s anyone, no “we will be back” or “went to the toilet” or any sign at all so we knocked on the staff door because it’s late/dark (it’s early Feb Amsterdam weather) and we don’t feel comfortable traveling too late at night in a foreign country. Lo and behold a Romanian Male receptionist appeared and immediately got aggressive with my wife and started yelling at her asking her why can’t she wait for a few minutes. Bear in mind I had an 11 & 12 years old girls with me both almost went to tears because he was so aggressive and condescending. I then asked him why is he so rude and so aggressive? He became aggressive with me as well and threatened to call the police because allegedly I disturbed all the other guests by knocking on the Staff Room’s door - ironically he was the one started being aggressive and yelling at this point - which would have really disturbed the other hotel occupants. He kept threatening us that he has CCTV but when we asked him to look back he refused. He then proceeded to tell us that we’re not welcomed anymore at the hotel . This to me is so discriminating and unprofessional and and racist (there was a review mentioning that they make Asians feel unwelcome and now I know why) - I’m pretty sure he don’t own the hotel so I’m not sure on what authority he’s not welcoming us back. For someone who values dignity, I am definitely never coming back to this hotel and would advise everyone we know the same as well. I asked for his name and he told me he was not obliged to tell me which is ridiculous as most hotel staff would wear a name tag precisely for incidents like these if we’d like to file a complain. He did not wear any name tag. He eventually offered his name but I was too distraught to really remember his name apart from the fact that I caught the word “Romania” or something to that effect on this name tag.
Absolutely horrible experience, do not book this hotel if you are an Asian and value your dignity. When I landed at Amsterdam, I saw a sign that read ‘ Everyone is Welcomed Here’ but apparently not in this Hotel. We will never return to the hotel or any of its chain again. We’re a family that travels internationally frequently and never for once have we come across unbecoming attitude such a these in any of the hotels we stayed at from 5 star to budget hotels.

Fantastic hotel

Lovely hotel. Stayed here last year. Alex in the reception was extremely helpful with everything we needed during our 6 day stay. School outside the hotel, however, it gets you up in the mornings on weekdays I had a ground floor room both stays so I’m sure the higher floors are okay sound wise. The area is lovely and you’re close to everything!

Great location, but beware of rooms on the 4th Floor

Great location, but be careful NOT to get a room on the 4th floor. We booked two rooms, one a single (which actually had a double bed in it) and one a twin. The single was on the first floor, a good size room, nice window, plenty of space. The twin was basically a hostel room....two small beds pushed up against opposite walls with a narrow gap between them that only one person could squeeze down at a time. Even the cups were smaller than our travelling companion on the lower floor! The curtain didn't close properly as the rail didn't cover the window and storage space was virtually non existent - and we had paid for the same class of room as our friend. Perhaps they should review their pricing structure as we felt rather aggrieved to be given such a lower standard of room.
