Great hotel with few (temporary) issues.
Dong Hoi itself is not an appealing place......but does have a relaxed atmosphere because there seem to be few tourists. With my over 1.90m I was iig a sight on the spot .
Pro:
- large / clean room and good bathroom
- gym in which all equipment worked well and was clean
- heated indoor pool.....only the temperature of the water is really too high to swim a little longer
- bar with good assortment, but little fun
- helpful staff
- top breakfast buffet
- large and good beds with enough pillows
Con
- when we were there, pneumatic equipment was demolished somewhere in the building. You can hear that throughout the building and sometimes started at 7:00 am. Apparently the hotel can't help it, but a huge no-go.
- air conditioning in our room did not work properly last night. It got hot and stuffy in the room. We understood that the reception had decided that it was ‘too cold’ that night and turned off the central cooling. No one seems to be wondering whether the windows can be opened on the higher floors, which is not the case. That wasn't a good night.
- lobby and bar are rather sterile and do not exude coziness

The pool and the breakfast were also very nice. Would highly recommend if you are staying in Dong Hoi

Melia Dong Hoi
From the time I arrived at reception. All of the reception staff were very helpful and friendly.
The breakfast choices were outstanding. There was lots of food. The staff kept the food fresh. The views over the river are fantastic.
