A lovely home

Beautiful and spacious room - exactly as the photos.
Wonderful Auntie assisted me with early check-out at 5am, and was very kind to coordinate pick-up with my tour operator. The home owner was only a text away, accommodating my personal requests.

Thanks to them we lost a day in Hanoi

We initially booked this homestay through Booking for 4 nights, it was available and confirmed but after a while they wrote to us saying that they did not have one of the nights available and if we could take another one and then move to this one and that they would give us a friend price. Okay, ok , we told him that we would take another accommodation for the first night and the next day we would go in the morning at least to leave the suitcase. When we arrived at the place we found two gates closed tight, there seemed to be nothing there, I wrote to him and He says that his aunt is on her way and that she is going to fix a faucet (he had also told me that if the room was free before check-in he would let me know, which he didn't do) his aunt comes who doesn't speak any English and simply gives us the key. (here about half an hour has passed since the first message until we have the key, we wanted to go to a scheduled visit to which we obviously did not arrive) We see that they have put duct tape on the faucet but it leaks water and the bathroom It's puddled, I tell him (all on WhatsApp) he tells me that they will fix it in the afternoon or the next day. Shortly after being in the room, there is a knock on the door and I see a boy who I assumed was the one I was talking to (it wasn't The first and only thing he tells us is to pay for the accommodation, we were surprised since we have always paid when we checked out, and coincidentally we did not have enough money since the ATM we found on the way did not work and no one charges by card. I tell him that we only have 500k, that we have to go to the ATM. He tells me that he will return at 5 pm that I should pay him there, obviously I tell him that I don't know if we will be there since if we are on the other side of the city I am not going to come on purpose (In addition, we were staying 4 days and 3 nights, there would be many moments to make the payment) Finally we agreed that we would write to him when we return and he comes to collect (because there is no one there in general) and at this point he asks me for my passport, I assumed that He asked me for them, as in 100% of the previous accommodations, to check in and he would return them to me immediately. He goes downstairs, we stay with the room door open waiting for him to bring them and he doesn't He comes back, we go down and there is no one there and the front door was closed with a key and padlock, it didn't seem like anyone was going to come back. So I write to the initial person to tell him if he had already finished with the passports so we could leave, and here The most surreal thing comes, he asks me if he can return them to me when we pay, how? Did they just kidnap my passport? The most important thing for a traveler? Well that's right, after a few minutes of assimilating what was happening I told him that ok, we'll look for an ATM but I'm not going to go there undocumented, the move seems amazing to me. Then he tells me that if the situation makes me uncomfortable he'll ask his Brother, if you can bring them to me, well, of course it bothers me that you unilaterally keep my passport, and he also tells me that I agreed to let him keep it (what? I accepted that it will take 2 minutes to register, not that they will keep our documentation as a hostage) obviously all this is very unpleasant so we decided that we will pay him that night and the next day we leave, the thing was to have left at the moment the truth is. Then he tells me that he does this because on some occasion they have left without paying, ah ok, since there was a dirty person in the past, I have to allow this situation and accept that they return my passport money through .So nothing, finally it comes The previous person charges for the night, gives us the passport, and then a new waste of time to look for a new accommodation where we are cared for properly and are not treated like criminals, just in case. It is the first time in my life that I have left a place earlier than expected, everything has been super uncomfortable and has made us lose the day. So keep these things in mind if you decide to come here, although in Hanoi there are plenty of places where you will surely They give you proper attention and welcome

Rip Off

We booked for 3 nights via booking.com for about 40 dollars. When we arrived the aunt of the host (who we never saw) asked of us 60 dollars. We were quite surprised but then she showed us booking.com and the prices had went up, artificially pushed by the host probably.
The rooms are alright, nothing too special.
On their website they show pictures with European breakfast. There was nothing like that. Not that we needed it but when you lure people with certain products you should be able to deliver. Especially when you push the prices over the roof.

Cosy and lovely room

The aircon room was very spacious with a king sized bed. There was also a hammock facing the wall. Heater is available in the shower. The water pressure was a bit light but was not a problem. The room and toilet are clean. Wifi is available per room.
The homestay keeper was friendly but speaks little English. Breakfast of egg and bread was provided and she accommodated our early morning request since we had to leave early for our Ha Long Bay trip.
Recommended place to stay but be warned that there’s a lot of stairs to climb. We were in level 5. It was tiring but manageable if you are used to it.

还行吧,优点离老城区很近,附近吃喝玩乐的方便,缺点刚来时找不到老板和工作人员,一脸懵逼的我,最后还是在老外的帮助下入住了
