Great place to stay

A great place to stay. Aside form the great novelty value of sleeping on the world's steepest street this is a great house - loads of space, comfortable beds, clean and modern. Lovely balcony areas as well. It was great to watch all the tourists walk up the steepest street from the windows. Really enjoyed this stay with responsive host.

You will feel dirty after staying here! Don't stay here!

We slept in this accommodation and booked it via booking.com. It was extremely dirty upon arrival. There were black hairs in the bed and the bathroom. There were old urine stains on the toilet. There were no clean towels provided. The kitchen utensils were extremely dirty. There was still soap in the shower from the previous guests. The check-out times do not match what is stated on Booking.com. The host does not respond to your messages. I wonder if the bed even had clean sheets. We felt dirty after staying in this accommodation. According to Tripadvisor this is a great place to stay. That is misleading as to what you will find and I would advise everyone against staying here. I think the photos say enough.

Great views and facilities

Our family of four was thrilled when we saw the size and quality of this place. We booked it as a stop over on a road trip and couldn’t believe how good it was. Fully equipped kitchen, large bathrooms and bedrooms. Well heated and clean.
Outstanding views across Dunedin.
We were a bit worried about parking since it is such a steep street but the driveway was easily accessible.
The best value bnb we have visited.

Disgusted

. I booked a deal for room for $105 in May 2017 for a stay in April 1 2018. Thought what’s great deal.halfway through the year I got an update saying the the “ bed and breakfast “ was changing owners. Then bout 3 weeks before I stayed there I got an email from owners stating room wasn’t meant to be $270 .. unsure how this was but I contacted Booking.com and they were fantastic. So I agreed with Booking.com to pay the $270 as the owners didn’t want to honour the agreed price and since then Booking.com have given me a refund of $165 . So I only did pay the $105 which was first agreed. Only reason I believe the room rate shot up was it was the weekend of ed Sheeran concert . Also to add insult to injury go told after I paid the $270 that breakfast was no longer included in the hiked up price. Should maybe just advertise as bed not bed and breakfast. I think it’s disgusting way to operate and urge others to think twice before booking this place . Bed was not what I’d call comfortable. Sunk in and to soft. Not firm at all . Had to put up with people thumping around above me as room up stairs had people in it and paper thin walls .

I am sorry you had a negative experience. You will be pleased to know that the house is no longer shared with other guests. The house comes as a whole to one lot of guests or to one booking only. This way we avoid any noise complaints etc. In regards to the pricing, as explained to you already, the booking.com CMS gave gave the wrong price figure for your room. That is why they offered you a partial refund and let us keep our actual price. Breakfast has not been served in almost 2 years now. That was explained in the email that you got in regards to changing owners. Our beds and fittings are regularly updated. We no longer advertise as a BnB as we are now a AirBnB holiday home. Remember you can now tell your friends and family that you have stayed on the steepest street in the world! Wishing you the best, Ash

Couldn’t be better

An incredible experience to stay on the steepest street in the WORLD! Perfect place to unwind after work and to set up base while down here. Grateful for the opportunity. Great prices and fantastic service.
