Great Value for money
We stayed here in May this year. The staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and comfortable and there was plenty of hot water. It is located close to the airport and is close to the local sites of interest. The food was well cooked and tasty. The pool was clear and the gardens were very peaceful and pretty. This is an under developed country and they are trying their very best to encourage tourism and I think they achieved a good standard and should be encouraged to succeed. Madagascar has much to be proud of and the people are warm and friendly. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Quirky hotel, convenient for airport
First, note that this hotel is also known as Gassy Country House hotel. If cab drivers don't recognize one name, try the other.
The hotel is very convenient for the airport, just a few minutes drive. Toward the end of your journey, you may think the driver has made a mistake when you turn off the main road onto a dirt road and enter what looks like a slum district, but fear not, you will soon enter the pleasant grounds of the hotel. It's situated on a slight rise and has good views over some of the neighboring terrain.
The property is a strange and quirky mix. There is some lush tropical landscaping, and a very attractive swimming pool. The main building is quite old fashioned, with an appearance something like a mansion from the American south. The rooms are a bit drab, with well worn furniture and the most feeble lighting I have ever experienced in a hotel. Either they are trying very hard to cut down their electric bill, or their power supply doesn't extend to 75 or 100 watt bulbs in every room. Hot water supply is sometimes good, sometimes luke warm. There is internet in every room but it is slow and cuts out regularly.
Reception and other staff were always helpful and friendly. The restaurant is quite good but, as elsewhere in Madagascar except luxury tourist hotels, put your food order in at least an hour before you intend to dine, because kitchens work VERY slowly by western standards.
Despite its flaws, I must say I liked this hotel and would happily stay there again. It's an eccentric mix of styles and amenities, but it has real character, and makes a welcome change from the typical bland modern hotel.

OK for a stopover but nothing else
The rooms are clean but the TV doesn't work, the showers you have to run for 10 minutes before it gets warm and the water pressure is non existent.
Breakfast is essentially a baguette (cold) with jam and triangle cheese spread, a banana, yoghurt and if you ask, 2 eggs.
Dinner if you have half board consists of a choice of 3 starters, 3 mains and 3 desserts.
There was a mosquito net in my room, but you don't get your room turned down and I didn't get my room cleaned after my 1st night as they came at 7pm to do it, by which time I was back in my room and relaxing.
Having it 5 mins away from the airport is a bonus, although it's in a neighbourhood that doesn't really feel safe.
And it's noisy. Between dogs barking through the night, and babies crying in the house across the way, it didn't make for a restful stay.
Add that to the total lack of soundproofing with wooden floorboards throughout, I was woken up at 4am by people laughing and joking (locals so assuming new shift had arrived) and guests rolling luggage up and down corridors to catch early morning flights, I was glad when I was able to check out.
That said, the staff are friendly and help as much as they can- for example the one lunch I had they only offered me the dinner menu (there is no lunch menu and I really didn't want a heavy meal) so I asked for a chicken sandwich and they made a plan (thank you!)
It's a real budget place and sadly I wouldn't recommend it unless you really had no other option.

We have received your comment about ICHotel. Please note that we are 3 minutes near the airport and are a transit hotel not for long stay. Our guests are all for transit which means most of them arrive very late and leave early in the morning so we apologize as the noise on arrival and early departure is just unavoidable. However, we plan to put a carpet on the corridor to reduce the noise.
We regret that your stay in our hotel happened when the hotel is full, also with some late arrival passengers with children from the airport and early departure at 3 am to catch the 5 am flight to the airport.
Regarding warm water, we use solar panel on the roof and we explain to our guest that it takes 3 to 5 minutes to get the water to the room.
In term of price, our room is 35 eur with private bathroom, TV, fridge, hairdryer and we believe that this price is fair enough compared to what we offer.
Of course we are not a 3 stars and do not intend to upgrade our hotel into 3 stars.
However we will strive to improve our service, keep training our staff and keen to take the challenge of improving everyday and negative but constructive feedback is very helpful from our guests

Good hotel for a stay near the airport
Spacious rooms, modern feeling, nice pool. The sign to the hotel is anything but clear, we drove around 30 minutes, until we finally, almost accidentally found it, but if you are looking for it, it is the same property as gassy country house.
Music in the bar was on until very late in the evening. If you just had a long flight, you really just want to sleep, nobody was dancing next to the pool. But globally OK.

A nice hotel by Malagasy standards and near Ivato Airport
We stayed here for only 1 one night but the hotel was a solid choice. Rooms were clean with decent wifi and a flat screen television. Bed was comfortable with thorough mosquito netting. Gardens were in flower and the pool was crystal clear. Bathroom and shower were clean (as is often the case, one must turn the hot water on with a valve under the sink). Staff was helpful and even spoke a little English. Breakfast was excellent with great service. Would stay here again.
