Dreamlike

What should I write about this wonderful place? If I had a literary talent I would write an essay about it .. To say the breakfast was wonderful and the menus in the evening fantastic it would not come close. To tell Ellen and Guiseppe the castle owners probably the most enchanting and helpful people who have brought us guests to this area. Anyone who has not spent a stay there at least once in their life has failed to add an indescribably joyful experience to their life.

Beautiful but ....

Location from thousand and one nights. but the suites (very nice), were invaded by green bugs (skunks) that perhaps for the hot and humid season have proliferated.
We patiently removed them all.
Some spider web with spider attached.
We are aware that the village, very large ancient and articulated, can hardly be maintained without 'guests' of 'nature'.
Excellent restaurant with attentive and well-kept service.
Breakfast with some trouble, given the full booked of the bridge of all saints.

Bridge of the Dead between Umbria and Lazio

We have just returned from our short break between Umbria and Lazio, we stayed in this property surrounded by greenery, but we would not recommend it. The apartment assigned to us had a tremendous smell of mold and humidity that improved slightly in the room and that we tried to eliminate with high heating; it had neither internet signal nor wi-fi that was given to us, it was working in our accommodation, in case of urgency there is no landline telephone available; the private garden mentioned on the site had tall grass; the refrigerator was off and there was no essential welcome kit, water, coffee and herbal teas. The bed, despite having asked for a double, had two single mattresses attached, which were also evidently too large for the bed base; one of the pillowcases of the 4 pillows had stains;
- the bathroom does not have a comfortable shower except a shower head that if used floods the whole part next to the sink; we had to let the water out in the tub, for about 2 minutes before using it since it was orange; the windows had cobwebs; there was no soap or bathroom kit, which was given to us only after requesting it;
- the spa is not available unless booked at least an hour in advance because it must be turned on, so we were told, but it is not written anywhere;
- the animals, specifically our dog, border collie female delicious, was accepted but only in the room and obviously in the leashed garden, we were told badly that we could not keep it during dinner at which instead we had to accept the screams of 2 children who were evidently too lively. The next morning we found a dog wandering among the breakfast tables;
- breakfast is prepared in an open room, where guests who leave and who like to embrace the cook also enter. There are jars of nutella and honey available to customers, where anyone can tap; staff members have neither aprons nor headphones while preparing drinks and cooking.
The property is in a very isolated area in the middle of the Umbrian countryside, without any special service, without any particular prestigious tourist attraction, except Perugia about 15 km.

Historic house with restaurant and SPA

During my stay at Castello Monticelli I had the opportunity to experience more spaces than those made available to the structure, as I stayed about a month. The accommodations are of the highest standard, expertly restored, preserving the original elements that tell stories of past eras. It's also nice to walk there on spring and autumn days through the alleys in purely medieval style. I did not use the pools because a little out of period. There is a very nice little spa with Turkish bath, whirlpool, sauna and relaxation area. Some suites have large tubs where up to 7/8 people enter. Good restaurant, I attended a banquet with natural wine tasting and jazz music in a room all in stone with a very characteristic vault. Mainly Umbrian cuisine with careful selection of cold cuts and cheeses. Most of the agricultural products are from the farm attached to the structure. Beautiful view of both sunset and sunrise being in a wide hilly position, you can see Perugia and the agricultural area of Marsciano as well as other castles and hamlets located nearby.

Remarkable, very nice historic complex

Very nice historic complex, well maintained and quiet. However, a bit away from restaurants and the nearest village. You should know that, only by car is you really mobile. The houses are of old substance, so there is no modern equipment. The rooms are clean, simple and nice. The bathrooms are not modern. Great view and soothing total peace. A very nice inspiring place. Particularly positive is the good cuisine to mention. There are great menus that are served fresh on the table from our own kitchen. Chef Cristina's cooking achievements are great. This is the finest Umbrian cuisine you could not wish for. However, the kitchen is not open every evening.
