Typical Outstanding Marriott Resort - Great Vacation!

After reading the previous reviews, I was hesitant to book here. But Marriott's have always been the best in vacation resorts. I was not disappointed. Check in was a breeze, friendly, courteous, helpful associates. The grounds are immaculate. Pool area clean and relaxing. The villa was excellent, well appointed, clean and had plenty of towels, paper products, etc. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped with microwave, coffee maker and dishwasher. Love the full size washer and dryer in the unit. We appreciated the screened porch, relaxing and enjoying the view and the sound of the water feature and the turtles sunning themselves in the warm sand and of course watching the golfers. There were no additional parking or resort charges. An added bonus was access to the Marriott Orlando World Center and the variety of restaurants. We used the shuttle over and didn't have to worry about parking and/or walking. They took you to the entrance and were continually back and forth until late at night. The laser light show at the pool area is unique. We also seen the fireworks at Disney from our villa each night. They were a good distance away, but we could easily see them. There were also many daily planned family activities, but we didn't participate because we were there to visit friends. The Royal Palms front desk must be attended all night. We checked out in the early a.m. hoping to get a head start on the I-4 traffic (I think it is 24-7) and the associate was helpful and pleasant - the perfect ending to a perfect week. The only things I would change is added handicap parking spaces and removal of the huge whirlpool tub from the main bedroom in order to expand the second bedroom.

Facilities tired, worn and moldy

Absolutely horrible start and stay. Mold and mildew in room caused breathing problems. Alternate room offered was worse. Housekeeping failed 4 different times (they could not get fridge handle clean (they didn't try and couldn't be bothered), removed dirty and smelly dishes without replacing them, dumped bag of clean towels in room hallway without placing them or taking out trash, couldn't be bothered with missing hot pads, sticky kitchen floor despite multiple requests, shower sprayer head won't stay put, toilet double flushes, carpet dirty upon arrival. Generally, sucky family experience. Do not plan to continue to be an "owner".

Great place for a family to stay

We were so happy with our villa. It was updated and clean. the villa was perfect for our family to have 2 bedrooms and a kitchen as well as laundry. They also have a convenient shuttle to the marriot world center where you can use their amazing pool and shuttle service to the Disney parks. Front desk staff was friendly and super helpful. Only complaint was that housekeeping for a 5 night stay was not included.

so amazing! so much room! Last time we were at the grand floridian. This had more room and was much more laid back than staying on site at the parks.

Spacious, very thin walls, and outdated

We stayed here for 5 nights for The Summit and appreciated the large spacious 2 bedroom/2bath villa, full kitchen, great a/c, and updated decor. The beds were comfortable (but linens had yucky stains), the master bath was spacious. And Netflix was a bonus!
Although the decor was updated, the appliances, kitchen, bathrooms, shower, tub, etc were all very outdated. The jet tub reminded me of 1991. It was all very clean, just kind of run down but being disguised by updated “decor”. The coffee pot is very old and the carafe was cracked making a big mess. The walls were very thin. We could hear everyone in the neighboring villas. Every door close, every drawer open, every footstep, every bar stool scoot, and every chair dragged across the patio. This normally wouldn’t bother me, but it was all night long to the point no one got any sleep even with a/c, fans, and sleep sound apps on our phones. After night 3, I requested to be relocated. Upon calling the front desk I was told they were at capacity, so asked for the manager. Manager was very nice and arranged for us to move to the top floor later the same day. When we got keys, it was 3rd floor and not top. The villa was identical in all aspects, including the loud neighbors above us. Therefore, we hardly slept the entire trip.
Overall the full kitchen and space was worth it for the price in comparison to other places, but losing sleep was really rough with very late nights and very early mornings with our competition schedule.
