A perfect stay in Elmshorn

We stayed with friends for 5 nights at the SH Hotel during the Wacken Open Air. We had a friendly telephone call beforehand, which enabled us to easily change our booking from a double room to a triple room. The room was very spacious and practical, even for 3 people. Everything was very clean. We can only recommend the breakfast, which can be booked separately. There is nothing missing from the breakfast buffet. In the evening you could order delicious pizzas from the extremely friendly staff.
You could park your car right next to the hotel for free.
We will definitely be back. We made our next booking as soon as we left.

Decent hotel, clean rooms, nice staff

Stayed here for two nights for Wacken. Rooms were clean, fairly comfortable, and reasonably priced. About 30 minutes from Hamburg downtown by car. The train seems to be around 20 minutes.
Staff are helpful though English is very very very limited. Be prepared before you get here so you don’t have to ask too many questions. The staff are friendly and will try to help if they can.
The hotel has wi-fi, though it is a bit weak, but satisfactory for low star hotel. You cannot expect too much.
There is parking in the back. Breakfasts were very simple, but good. It is very close to the highway, but there is not much around the hotel other than a gas station and a Burger King. Up the main road it seems there are some other things, but it’s a small spread out town.
I’d stay here again if I had to.

Good value for money if visiting Elmshorn or Gluckstadt

Stayed 2 nights on our European tour. This is a quiet location, 3 km from Elmshorn and a half hour drive to Gluckstadt, both country towns close to Hamburg, worth visiting.
The staff were willing to help and very apologetic that they could not communicate well in English, but we got by. The room we had on the first floor was clean and spacious and the bathroom was adequate.
The WiFi was a bit challenging as it tended to be rather slow. The continental breakfast needs to be ordered the previous night and it comes in either big, medium or small. We had the big breakfast on the first day, which we could not finish, and had to go for the small next day, which was good enough. If you feel the continental breakfast is not for you, Burger King is just around the corner.

Service gut, Zimmer ok

Netter Empfang und freundliche Besetzungen der Rezeption, sowie professionelles Buchungs- und Fakturamanagement findet man hier - direkt in der Nähe der Autobahn und nahe des Einkaufszentrums. Gegenüber ist Burger King und eine Araltankstelle. Darunter eine Spielhölle.
Die Lärmbelästigung durch Straße und Schnellrestaurant ist recht hoch. Das Fenster muss geschlossen bleiben. WLAN ist verfügbar und läuft gut. Badausstattung scheint neu, wobei ein Duschvorhang nicht mehr state-of-the-art ist. Dass ein Fön fehlt, ist die gleiche Kategorie. Ausstattung auch sonst ist eher einfach. Ärgerlich auch, dass es nur DVBT gibt - in mäßiger Qualität. Sauberkeit ist gegeben. Der Preis ist insgesamt für die Übernachtung gerechtfertigt und im unteren Niveau.

Mehr eine Absteige als ein Hotel

Ankunft: von außen ist das Hotel eher kaum zu finden, weil es kombiniert ist mit einer Spielhalle. So wirkt es auch.
Empfang: man muß schon ein bißchen suchen, bis man den Empfang findet. Dieser ist nämlich an der Spielhalle vorbei an einem Biertresen. Ich möchte noch den abenteuerlichen Geruch dieses Etablissements erwähnen. Ganz furchtbar.
Check-in: ich habe noch nie eine halbe Stunde zum Einchecken gebraucht, aber hier.
Schlechtes Deutsch, keine Kenntnis des Hotelprogramms usw. Nach 30 Minuten hatte ich meinen Schlüssel.
Zimmer: das Zimmer ist funktional eingerichtet, teilweise abgewohnt (loch im Teppich, Tür zum Bad durch Wasser unten ausgefasert, Schwarzschimmel in der Dusche, das Duschgel ist widerlich).
Der (Röhren)-Fernseher gibt kaum was her, die Fernbedienung geht nicht.
Hinweisschilder sind mit Tesafilm an die Wand geklebt, es wikr alles billig.
Fenster öffnen empfiehlt sich nicht aufgrund der lage (große Bundesstrasse und Burger King vor dem Fenster).
Frühstück: Nun ja, ein dunkler Raum vor dem Biertresen, die meisten Produkte in Plastik verpackt, Wurst ungenießbar, der Käse geht. Der Kaffee ist gut.
Fazit: 69 Euro plus 9,90 Frühstück, das ist wirklich eine Frechheit.
