Good value
Location is rather convenient, with a direct bus to the Messe Centre, just 1 min walk away. There's also a Rewe supermarket just round the corner and quite some restaurants in the vicinity.
Breakfast spread is limited but I love the breads they offer and that's all I needed. On the morning of the last day, I left before breakfast operating hours and they had these packs ready for guests leaving early, with sandwiches, egg and fruit. How lovely.

Bit noisy but ok
I could pretty much hear people watch tv through the walls, paperthin!
But it felt very calm and of course a good location.
A bit old with a small elevator, but i kind of liked it anyway.

Small and stuffy
I was greeted warmly at reception and asked to pay for my room. I assumed that would save me time when checking out. The receptionist quickly took a piece of paper and a pencil and wrote a few numbers on it, which he then added up with the calculator. I would then receive the bill the next day. For me, it was a disaster to pay "something" without getting a receipt for it.
I had booked a single room and my expectations were not very high. However, when I opened the door to the room, I was shocked by the small "hole" (approx. 2.5m wide and 4m long). You could fall straight from the door into bed without having to enter the room. A stuffy and musty smell hit me. I quickly opened the window at the end of the corridor, or rather the room, and the room was filled with street noise. It was impossible to sleep with the window open or closed.
The shower has a curtain and it is so small that it often sticks to your body. The bath towel was so small and thin that it was only possible to dry yourself off.
Breakfast was OK.
After the night I decided to leave even though I had booked for a longer stay. The reception was stubborn and did not want to credit me for the breakfast price or the overnight tax. I knew that I would have to pay the room price for the nights I did not use.
If I had stayed in a different room and at the end of the day, the rating would certainly have been better, but in that room it was one of the worst nights in a hotel room.
